Archiving/Dramaturgy/Script Development
Archiving
This work shapes the future of our cultural legacy. Archiving and research present boundless opportunities for artists. I have worked alongside the archivists at La MAMA, The Guthrie Theatre, and with the Research Center for Arts and Culture at The Actors Fund to create life archives for Micheal David Arian and Len Cariou. Considering not just the technical aspects and outcomes, I see archiving as a way to change perceptions and collaborate with the past.
Dramaturgy
As a dramaturg, I respond to answer questions posed by actors, writers, and directors to enrich the background and environment of a show. I also have worked with preexisting and historical texts, to create entirely new works based on wishes of producers and collaborators. I worked as the dramaturg for The Franca Rame Project which had it's US premiere in March 2019 at the Irondale Women On Women Festival. This was an updated and reframed work developed from the collected work of famous solo theater artist, Franca Rame. Click here for testimonials.
Script Development
I have provided support to other creators for rewrites, grant applications, and story structure documents while keeping their vision as the central focus for my feedback. Previously, as the development lead at Experimental Bitch Presents, I approached the work of what could be summarized as pitching and perfecting by centering deep listening and investigation as the impetus for projects. In a few basic steps, I help writers reiterate their desires with clarity so I can honor the intention of the project. Click here for testimonials.
